The overriding objective of the ALLIANCE FOR CHRISTIAN ADVOCACY AFRICA (ACAA) is to ensure that the tremendous growth of the Christian faith in Africa is adequately reflected in the social, economic, and political life of the continent and its people through effective advocacy, capacity development, and relevant education and information sharing. In short, ACAA sets out to ensure that Christianity positively affects the lives of the people. We aspire to promote integrity and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the fellowship of Christian businesses, professionals, and community leaders.
Specifically, the ACAA shall ensure the accomplishment of the following objectives:
- create platforms for fellowship for individual Christians (both ordained and lay) and Christian groups who are into the Christian Advocacy Ministry;
- build networks and partnerships with other ecumenical bodies to engage governments and policy makers on good governance, integrity in governance, sustainable politico-socio-economic development, credible elections, transparency, accountability etc.;
- mobilize individual Christian leaders (both lay and ordained) and groups for social transformation through influencing public policies with faith values and perspectives;
- pursue Research and Advocacy on Christian contributions to social transformation and Influence on public policies;
- create platforms for translating Christian growth and perspectives into social transformation discourses;
- develop Christian education materials for use in congregations, homes, theological seminaries etc. on the church and public policy engagements;
- serve as resource center for Christian education materials on advocacy, national cohesion, attitudinal change, sustainable development, good governance, etc.;
- develop and strengthen the capacity of Christin leaders for advocacy and influence on public policies through training, sensitization, consultancy, etc.; and
- cultivate the next generation of ethical leaders with high levels of integrity for Christian, socio-political, business, professional leadership through the formation and operations of Advocacy Clubs in Academic Institutions, Congregations, Work places and the Communities.
