Who We Are

WHAT IS THE ALLIANCE FOR CHRISTIAN ADVOCACY AFRICA?

The Alliance for Christian Advocacy Africa (ACAA) is a registered, not-for profit, non-denominational and non-partisan Faith Based Organization.

It is a network of Individual Christian Leaders (Both Lay and Ordained) with varied Professional and Academic backgrounds who feel concerned about the current disconnect between the massive Christian presence and matters of public policy and sustainable development. Members of the ACAA therefore, seek to ensure that the tremendous growth of the Christian faith is adequately reflected in the social, economic, and political life of the nation and its people through effective advocacy, capacity development, relevant public education and information sharing. It is the passion of ACAA that development of capacities of Church leaders and members must focus on proactive social advocacy and sustainable transformational actions beyond intercessory and service for the desired social transformation.

ACAA moreover, believes that with sound values and perspectives, the Faith Based Organizations must contribute to the shaping of worldviews of the people towards social transformation. The relevance of the contemporary Faith Based Organizations is closely related to the deliberate roles of the Churches in matters of good governance, peace, sustainable development, accountability, integrity of elections, human rights, equal opportunities, justice, and social transformation, an agenda that ACAA has set for itself.

Even though the ACAA actively participates in governance, public policy initiatives, and national interest discourses, it will always avoid becoming politically affiliated to or being seen as being so politically affiliated to any political party. The ACAA further avoids becoming a ‘privileged partner’ for any political party, or doing the bidding of any political party. The ACAA is always guided by the Bible, the national best interest, the common good of the people, and discernment through the Holy Spirit.

ACAA will seek to partner with National and Ecumenical bodies in the Continent, Department of Religious Studies in Universities that are running related academic programmes and research institutions. Membership is opened to individuals and bodies who identify with the objectives of the ACAA.

The ACAA though an African focused and centered is Headquartered in Accra, Ghana.
